What’s the best digital camera for under $1000 for doing HDR composites?

I’m getting married and I can’t afford the professional photography packages that typically run $3-5K, so I’m trying to get the photography done on a budget, but I’d still like the pictures to be of professional quality for obvious reasons.

What are people’s experiences with various digital cameras? Are there any that I can pre-program to rapid-capture five pictures in a row at different exposures? Do any store in floating-point format instead of integer format?

Thanks in advance.

I would go with a Canon Rebel XT or XTi. They take beautiful photos and they are digital slr cameras so you can but different lenses. I currently use the Rebel XT which has a resolution of 8.3 megapixels. The Canon XTi has 10.1 megapixels. You can also get great deals on Amazon for these; you can get the XT for like $450 with a starter lens and the whole starter kit. Or you can get the XTi for like $600. The photos taken on these cameras are professional quality. The camera is good for beginners or for experienced individuals. The shutter speed on the XT is 3 frames per second and you can take RAW images. For more info you can look at Canon’s website through the link below.

Good Luck!

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on…….

The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
    Good Luck
