unable to connect my laptop to TV?

I have DELL inspiron 600m laptop.The video graphics driver i am using is ATI mobility radeon 9000 version A7.
I am trying to connect my laptop to the tv using the composite in cable.

I went to desktop properties > settings. When I select the ”Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor” check box and press the apply button, it won’t save the setting and removes the check mark in the check box. I tried the latest version of graphics driver ATI mobility radeon 9000 version A10.Still having the same issue.

it will always uncheck when you unplug it from the tv unless you program some kind of script that changes the selection
