What are some examples of Composite Materials?

January 15th, 2010 | by admin |

Can you tell me a few examples of composite materials, please?
Also, if you don’t mind, can you also tell me what the material is made from?

Thank you so much! (:

A composite would be something in which the end product contains at least contains two macroscopically distinct materials (as compared to an alloy which looks just like another metal on the macroscopic level). By "macroscopically distinct," it is meant that it can be seen with the eyes.

• An example would be carbon fiber/epoxy that people usually just refer to as "carbon fiber"
• Another example could be plywood (wood and glue).
