What is a composite material?

Hi, I just want to know what a composite material is in technology
Thankyou xxx

"Composite" comes from the Latin words "cum" [with] and "possuit" [having been put]; a composite is a material put together.
It usually means a material made from two or more rather different materials. For example, fiberglass reinforced polyester. Wood is a natural composite, having cellulose fibers and lignin ‘resin’ binding them.
In some ways cermets can be considered composite.

I bet wikipedia has a lot more info, as well as useful links.

Most amusingly the system asterisks out the latin word for ‘with’ as it is used as a variant of ‘come’ by ignorant people….

  2. Pull out your stopwatch. Time yourself through the whole process of asking a question on this site.

Now time yourself going to wikipedia and searching the term you want defined. Compare the two.
