We need to replace our deck. It will be on the West side of our house, and there isn’t any shade, so it will get hot during the summer months. I was wondering about the pros and cons of composite decking and specifically: (1) recommended brands; (2) whether composite decking is easily scratched; and (3) whether it’s possible to repair scratches to composite decking. Thanks!
I wouldn’t worry so much about a scratch. That stuff gets wet it
comes apart. It should be outlawed. Good luck.

treated post and treated decking boards are the best. 5by 4 post and 5 quarter decking boards screwed down keep the floor boards butted up tight to one another as they will shrink while drying out. that is what i used 10 years and it is still in very good shape.
