Definetly go with the composite, I wish we had. We should really know better (have built several homes all with wood decks). Wood is just so-o-o much upkeep. We have stained and cleaned our current deck 3 times already and it is only 5 years old and it needs it again very badly. Go with composite.
References :
While not completely maintenance free, composite decking only requires cleaning. You don't have to put any type of finish on it now, or in the future.
There are many color varieties to match your taste.
Most composites are very durable. Like many other things, the more expensive the decking, the more durable.
The only downside is the cost. You will pay in the neighborhood of $6.00 per square foot for composites (and don't by the cheap, in the sale ad junk), where treated wood costs about $1.00, and cedar costs around $2.25.
My favorite (best quality for the price) composites are from TimberTech and Azek.
References :
Professional building materials salesman.

Yes is the answer.

When you consider the fact composites are virtually maint free and lasts a lifetime it becomes clear. No staining, power washing, rotting, sealing.

You may also want to visit Home Depot,Lowe's,84 Lumber as they should have a cad program to help with design/costs factors. You can also accent your project with different color inserts.

Good Luck
