about to build a deck, is composite decking worth the money?

I live in the pinelands in New jersey, lots of trees

You don’t say where you live. Here in Texas, composite decking will sag in the multiple 100-degree-plus days we have in summer.

You could build your deck out of IPE (mahogany) for about the same price and have something of stunning beauty.

    I like wood look better and you have numerous stains and stain colors to get. Composite will last a lot longer, but it is costly. If you can afford it get it, but not a lot of people can afford it.
