Is anyone else sick of the people that complain about planes like the 787 that use carbon fiber composites instead of aluminum. They talk like its made out of some incredibly brittle plastic that will shatter into a million pieces in the event of a crash, wen it actuality its ...

Hi,
I want to make composite (fiberglass, kevlar, carbon fiber) products as a hobby, I'd like to make things at home and sell them and make a small profit but I cant decide what to make. Any ideas on what to make?
Thanks

Am mech engineer in an oil and gas company and have lot of interest in composite materials (FRP carbon fibre, etc) and am getting publications to increase my knowledge in the area.
I find that when western countries advanced into several applications of this material, India is still at infancy in ...

I know that there are some that are made with carbon composites... Does anyone know what the other element is in the composite?
Also, what are some other common household objects that are made with composites, and what are the composites?
Thank you so much. -^^-

Quite obviously, carbon fibre is made from mostly carbon. However, I have to explain why it is a composite material by explaining that it is made up of more than one element. Luckily, I'm only required to say A and B are included. I'll say carbon as A, but what ...

ways to improve mpg: get rid of the pollution equipment - wastes gas
develop new manifolds and intakes - will help the engine breathe easier
find ways to re-use the heat that comes out the exhaust
use lighter weight materials: carbon fiber, composites
use hydrogen producing canisters that require only water and electrodes, producing ...

I would like to replace the i beam in my house as the old one droops quite a bit. I was looking for an i beam that is made from composite materials such as carbon fibre so that it will be less labor intensive to maneuver and install.
Thanks,
Carl

What about wooden bullets? (Maybe not enough wood in those to do the trick though...)
Any thoughts? The vampire apocalypse is coming, and I want to be sure I'm prepared with the right equipment.
A carbon fiber composite stake with wood as part of its structure would probably be lighter, ...
